ABRAHAM FERRER is Exhibitions Director at Visual Communications,
a Los Angeles-based Asian Pacific American media arts center.
Since 1988 he has served as co-director of The Los Angeles Asian
Pacific Film Festival (VC FILMFEST), and organizes year-round
screening programs for Visual Communications and a variety of
community arts and media organizations. He has also served as
a program consultant for international film festivals including
the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival,
Cinemanila International Film Festival and Singapore International
Film Festival, and has written extensively on issues relevant
to the development of Asian American cinema.
JOEL QUIZON received a Film Degree from CSUN back when
they still used film and has in subsequent years worked in independent
films of dubious distinctions. Shifting focus to the recording
industry, Joel had a four year stint with London-Sire Records
until they folded. Currently, he works for E! Entertainment. Joel
also hosts an afternoon of music at Tribal Café called
"diggin' Sunday" every 3rd Sunday of the month, where he and resident
selectors and music heads spin Jazz, Pinoy Rock, Asian Funk and
various other vinyl oddities and crate treasures.
WENDELL PASCUAL is an ascetic fish swimming through concrete
inhaling smog. he is the media arts facilitator for the pilipino
artists network and pushes buttons for kpfk 90.7fm los angeles
(www.kpfk.org)
as the producer and enginner for the weekly radio broadcast aziatik
rhythmz. designs for florasynthesis.com and is the in house graphic
designer for ucla live! (www.uclalive.org).
