Fortune hasn’t smiled—it’s smirked—on Tang Daxing, on parole after serving seven years for a brawl defending the honor of his high school sweetheart Xiao Hui. Although now a diva on the nightclub circuit, the fetching Xiao has remained faithful to the rather ordinary Daxing more out of a feeling of obligation than love. Daxing can’t find work and loses his last yuan to a scam, so Xiao turns to the attentions of another former classmate Liu Yi, whose unattractiveness is exceeded only by his wealth. He showers presents on Xiao while Daxing plans to rob him with the help of two bumbling cohorts. Will Daxing get his girl back, or wind up back in jail?
