Note: Of the over one-hundred or so directors and producers in
town to promote their works at VC FILMFEST, Howard Cabalfin may
have been the most nervous of all. The creator of an ingenious
Flash animation workout entitled "The Adventures of Barrelman,"
Howard had to wait until Day Six of the Festival to screen his
work during "Final Exam 03," the rollicking fake martial
arts/special F/X program that brought together a collection of
VC FILMFEST's most twisted geniuses. But fortunately for us, Howard
was just as interested in seeing what his filmmaking peers were
up to, and to that end kept a diary of his comings and goings
throughout Festival Week. We thought his observations were so
kewl we decided to reprint them for the pleasure of you, our valued
readers. Enjoy!
